EVERYBODY TAKE A DEEP BREATH

The good news is the series is holding to form and if that continues, the Rockets are on to round two. The bad news..well, where do I start? Too many turnovers, un-Rocket like defense, and some over officious jerks working the game all contributed to the game 4 loss. I was happy to see more people getting involved on offense, but I’m worried about Deron Williams and Okur waking up for the Jazz.

I’m trying to be as positive as I can about the situation. I’m trying to attract only the best circumstances for the Rockets. Obviously I’m not trying hard enough… Or maybe it’s you. Yeah, it’s you. Step it up. Repeat “The Rockets are great and they are going to win this series” 5 times in the morning and 5 more times before you go to sleep.

It’s not time to panic, the sky’s not falling yet BUT winning game 5 is a must. I’m being positive and everything.. Trust me I am.. I just don’t wanna see Houston having to win in Utah to stay alive.

LET’S LOOK ON THE BRIGHT SIDE

That was ugly.. Historically ugly for the Rockets. 67 points?!? Man. Look on the bright side, at least it wasn’t 66.. Or 61 like Cleveland put up last year against Detroit…

The 19 turnovers, disgusting. 17 of the turnovers were committed by Yao (8), Rafer (5), and Tracy (4). C’mon fellas!!.. The Rockets shot 33% from the field, and 32% from 3 point land. Here’s the line for Chuck Hayes and the bench: 76 minutes, 0-12 from the field, 0 points, 13 boards, 1 assist, 3 steals, and 2 blocks. An all around terrible performance… Let’s look on the bright side…

The Utah Jazz had to win game 3. Go down 0-3 and the series is a wrap. I know Houston played like crap, but Utah, in a must win situation, didn’t play much better. The Jazz got more people involved on offense, ( 9 players scored for Utah. 4 for Houston) but they only shot 39% from the field and an embarrassing 13% from 3. Houston committed more fouls in the game, 20 to 19, but went to the line 8 more times.

What does it all mean? We’re fine. Yes we. Positivity, the Rockets, and me. Last year the Miami Heat won two tough home games against the Chicago Bulls. They got blown out when they went to Chi-Town for game 3, and they lost game 4. Seems like it worked out pretty well for the Heat.

Posted by HG on April 25, 2007

I caught somebody hatin’ on Rafer Alston over at www.redrowdies.com . We’re all rooting for the Rockets.. What’s the problem bro? Calling Rafer Alston the worst point guard in the league is A) wrong and B) NOT POSITIVE. I guess you would prefer Sebastian Telfair. Or maybe you would like Smush Parker’s 14 minute, 0-2 from the field, 2007 playoff performance.

For those not in the know, Rafer is a street ball legend.. Alston aka Skip To My Lou was able to make the transition from the parks to the arenas. I met him one time when he was with Milwaukee. We talked more about “Skip” than Rafer even though he made it clear he was very proud to make it to the NBA. Here he is back in the day:

Everybody can’t be Nash, Kidd, or Paul. On a team with Tracy and Yao, you need somebody that can bring the ball up court, get the team into it’s offense, and hit wide open shots when guys are double teamed. STML can do all of those things. Rafer shot 36% from 3 point land this season. His mark could be better, but he’s in line with the league average. He doesn’t put up the biggest assist totals either although that’s more of a JVG style thing.

If you’re wondering why I’m defending Rafer Alston, you haven’t been keeping up with YBB lately. Let’s go everybody. Support the Rockets. ALL OF THEM.

Great video showing Yao and Olajuwon. The editor did an excellent job of finding similarities.

Cranking up my support for the Rockets.

Shout out to fellow Rocket supporters, the good folks over at Red Rowdies.
