I can’t believe there’s ever a day that the news is so slow Bill O’Reilly has to interview a mascot and the “Chuck E. Cheese guy”. O’Reilly wants to discuss the “other element” of children that attack people in costumes. The conversation is taking place because Tigger slapped a kid at Disney World.
The interview is cruising along… O’Reilly asks the Newark Bears mascot if he ever whacked anybody, and tells the CEC guy “for ten bucks an hour I’m not sure if it’s worth it”.. The interview took an interesting turn when Bill O’Reilly said he wanted to talk about the most famous case of mascot abuse.
O’Reilly is talking about the Randall Simon/Milwaukee Brewers sausage incident… Sort of. He “thinks it’s in Chicago” for starters and then:
“Boom..He gets hit with a bat..the person and now there was a settlement made there, the poor guy in the whatever they are suit….sausage mascot..you know, got some damages.”
The only thing Mr. O’Reilly was right about is that somebody got hit with a bat. Mandy Block was inside the sausage suit.. She’s a girl. Her “settlement” was an apology and a Randall Simon autographed bat. At least we learned dressing up like a bear can attract a few ladies.
