The homeboy Eskay at Nah Right put me on to this song. First things first, it’s not actually Michael Vick rapping, it’s not a Bad Newz remex. It’s more than likely this dude, and the song is idiotic to say the least. It doesn’t matter which side of the argument you’re on regarding the Vick situation, making a song about electrocuting dogs is ignorant. Don’t believe me?
Told ya… When it comes to the Michael Vick case I didn’t tell ya. I thought it was suspicious that the feds were saying an indictment was unlikely, but I believed them when they told the league and the Falcons that no indictment was coming. That was dumb. They were leaving the door open for the eventual indictment. More on this soon..

How many times have you heard a lawyer (real or fake) say “I could indict an innocent man/dead man/ham sandwich? The idea being that it’s easy to get an indictment. So when the feds come back and say that they are unlikely to indict Vick because:
The authorities have told the Falcons and league that there has not been any evidence that can be tied to Vick with the alleged dogfighting ring.
That’s a pretty powerful statement. It goes against almost everything we’ve heard during this saga. Michael Vick was tried in the media, and found guilty, because people wanted him to be guilty. There was a rush to judgment on the public’s part, but with a lot of the misinformation being given, what could you expect?
Whatever happened to the videotape that shows Mike Vick at a dogfight party? It would’ve turned up by now if it really existed. It sucks that something like that can get floated out by major outlets without consequence. Vick got done wrong in the media, Dwil has a whole lot more to say about it, and hopefully everybody has learned from it.
The news is good for Michael Vick but not for everybody in his camp. The feds still plan to indict at least 3 people, and the Surry County investigation hasn’t concluded yet. At least Vick’s name is safe from the smut for a few days.

Roy Jones Jr. is fighting on the 14th of July against 21-0 Anthony Hanshaw. I don’t care either, but Roy did an interview with Robert Cassidy of Newsday that caught my eyes. Cassidy touched on several topics with RJJr including the Mayweather/De La Hoya fight, UFC vs. Boxing, and then Michael Vick.
Q. What do you think about Michael Vick and the dog-fighting allegations that are swirling around him?
A. People tend to talk so hard against people. They make it such a bad thing, like dog fighting is worse than killing someone. I’m not a dog fighter. I’ve never been to a dog fight. But just because they have the animals doesn’t mean they are fighting the animals. Michael Vick doesn’t have that kind of time to train and raise dogs… I like bulldogs and I like their mentally. They are making this so bad, but really two dogs fighting can happen in anyone’s backyard or on the street. It happened in my backyard, two of my dogs fought and one died. I was devastated because I love dogs. Fighting animals don’t necessarily get mistreated. They get treated just the way I get treated. They train me, they feed me; if I lose, I lose, and when I get in the ring, there is that chance I could get killed.
I was with RJ for the first half of the paragraph. When he started with the “dogs fighting can happen in anyone’s backyard”, and he gets treated just like a fighting animal, he lost me. Dogs aren’t roving the streets and backyards looking for a scrap, and they’re damn sure not gettin paid. And you know Roy wasn’t done yet.
Q. You’ve always raised animals, haven’t you?
A. I’ve raised dogs and I’ve raised game chickens, but I don’t raise them for fighting. I just love them, I love their demeanor. But I can’t stand to see them hurt. It used to be that you could drive to Louisiana and fight chickens. But they passed a law and that’s illegal now.
Maybe Roy meant to say “I don’t raise them for fighting anymore” because saying “I don’t raise them for fighting” would be a lie. Roy’s love of his cocks and fighting them has been well documented. Hulk Hogan wrote Roy Jones Jr. a letter on the behalf of the Humane Society “urging” Jones to stop participating in the sport. “I can’t stand to see them hurt”.. Seems kinda strange.. Or smart. He has to go with the “I ain’t never seen no cockfighting” routine now that cf’n is illegal and because of the Michael Vick situation.
It’s hard to hear NFL player and pit bull in the same sentence and not think of dogfighting. New York Giants linebacker Antonio Pierce is trying to change that. Antonio Pierce is a pit bull breeder, he even says so at the bottom of his NYG player page, but he says his operation is above board:
“Anybody who fights pit bulls is a punk. It gives my dogs a bad rap. Everybody loves my dogs because they’re good dogs. So of course I’m not pleased with it.”
Antonio chose not to come right out and talk about Michael Vick but he did acknowledge that he’s aware of Vick’s problems. He even added that if the evidence against Michael Vick turns out to be true then the NFL and prosecutors “need to do what they need to do“.
Pierce has sold dogs to teammates and friends but he won’t sell you a dog unless he knows you and he’s positive the pit won’t be used in any illegal activities. Does that mean speeding with the dog in the car? Jaywalking while taking Fido out for a leak? I’m not sure, but it’s good to hear that at least one guy has his head on straight when it comes to dogfighting. I wonder if Pierce knew about Vick’s alleged treatment of dogs before this play:
It’s gonna be interesting to see what Antonio does for an encore on October 15th when the Giants are in Atlanta for Monday Night Football.
**YBB UPDATE** The news gets worse for Michael Vick. The house where the alleged dogfighting was taking place was robbed some time between May 7th and May 18th. The thief/thieves made off with 3 plasma televisions, two floor buffers, a wet/dry vacuum, an upright washer and dryer, and a leather sofa worth $17,550. It makes you think, if the dogs were still on the property would the house have gotten jacked? **END UPDATE**
The Mike Vick dog drama is still on going and as more information comes out, it’s seeming like Michael Vick was definitely aware, if not involved, with the Dog Fight Club. There’s supposedly video evidence of Mike at a dog fight, and you gotta check out what Kathy Strouse is saying. Strouse, the animal control coordinator for the City of Chesapeake in Virginia stated she is “very confident” that Vick will be linked to the scandal, and she’s pushing for Surry County Commonwealth attorney Gerald Poindexter to press charges. Dogfighting is a felony in Virginia, punishable by up to 5 years in the big house.
One thing is for sure… Mike loves his dogs.. Check out this video:
I didn’t see the water bottle with the secret compartment on the shoes or the name Air Mexico.. Nike obviously didn’t do their homework. I think the word Nike execs are looking for is “recall”.
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has been hell bent on cleaning up his league and it’s image. The suspensions of Chris Henry and Pacman Jones coupled with the “get your shit together” sit down with Michael Vick have been all over the headlines for weeks. NFL coaches and fans have applauded Rog’s new rules.. but are the rules really in effect?
The code of conduct seems only to apply to players that have screwed up numerous times and are on the general public’s radar. The new league toughness apparently doesn’t apply to future NFL draftees. The New England Patriots drafted known head stomper Brandon Meriweather (and traded for Randy Moss). The Chiefs, Niners, Browns, Bucs, and Bills all drafted questionable character guys (Tank Tyler, Tarell Brown, Eric Wright, Tanard Jackson, and Marshawn Lynch..gulp..respectively). The Green Bay Packers signed two undrafted prospects last week.. One guy got in trouble in college for possession of marijuana and a stolen handgun, the other failed drug tests (marijuana) in Junior College and at Ole Miss.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m not some tight ass that wants to see all of these “evil doers” out of the league. I believe in second chances.. Hell, even third or fourth chances depending on the offense. I think it’s wack that Goodell grandstands like he’s “mad as hell and not gonna take it anymore” when it comes to Pacman and Chris Henry, but he’ll pose for pictures on draft day with guys that violate his code.
In the movie Final Destination death hunts down those that have escaped it’s clutches. In Atlanta, trouble chases the football team. Quarterback Michael Vick has had his well publicized offseason problems, defensive lineman Jonathan Babineaux allegedly whacked his girlfriend’s dog, linebacker Demorrio Williams tore a pectoral muscle lifting weights, and over the weekend defensive lineman Rod Coleman ruptured his quadriceps in a boating accident. The problems haven’t been limited to the current roster as former Falcon Ray Buchanan was arrested in February for passing bad checks, and Ashley Ambrose was picked up for allegedly abusing his wife. And just when you think it couldn’t get any worse, the team signs Joey Harrington.
